Business As Part of Life’s Adventure

  • A middle-aged man with blue eyes and short dark hair smiling while sitting in a warmly lit indoor space with framed photos and shelves in the background.

A learn-it-all, not a know-it-all, I've worked at a senior level in strategy, product and marketing for 20 years, run my own product marketing consultancy and spent several years as a business growth advisor. Way, way back, before any of that, I started and ran several businesses of my own.

  • I love teamwork and winning

57 going on 30 and not retiring because I love working with other humans to solve puzzles, I enjoy business and success, and I want to share the skills and knowledge I’ve acquired over 30 years of marketing and selling, product innovation, strategy and business growth and ownership.

  • Dive deep to understand

I live in the Gryffe Valley near Glasgow. The name Duchal Strategy comes from the nearby Duchal Moor, where the Blacketty and Green Waters meet and where I like to ride my bike and mull over your business challenges and generate new ideas and better solutions.

  • Get the big picture AND the detail

One may also think about business while sailing, scuba diving or walking the Hound of Duchal Moor. Puzzle solving takes time and, while others jump to conclusions, my preference is to digest the data and think it through and then, always (!!) take decisive action. My favourite saying is, ‘Stop, breathe, think, act.’
